Cataract formation usually begins with a
small white speck which grows; the rate of
growth and the subsequent impact on the
sufferer's sight are variable. Cataracts
become a problem when they impede
and/or scatter the light entering the eye,
causing the sufferer to experience an
adverse alteration in vision.
