Dear all,
Please find attached the answer to the Part 1 task that you produced collectively in yesterday's class. As you may recall, the introductory paragraph, the overview and the conclusion were all produced by groups assigned to that part of the answer. With the body paragraphs, four groups worked on different versions, all of which have been typed up in the attachment.
What I would like you to do, by Friday noon of this week, is:
Review the answer in its assembled (or patchwork) form
Select the elements of it that you think combine best to form an adequate answer and delete material you do not wish to include (aka keep the best, discard the rest)
Having made this selection, read through the text that remains carefully: correct any errors in grammar, word choice, spelling, sentence construction etc.
After making these corrections, decide which parts of the answer are still unsatisfactory in some respect, i.e., where some rewriting is required or additional detail needs to be added to achieve the task. In other words, this is the stage at which you start your own writing
Produce a final version that incorporates all your corrections, rewordings and additions
Email your individual version of the answer to Ms.Som-O by evening on Friday, 13 June
The marks for this task will be taken into account in your pre-mid scores, so please make sure you are clear about the requirements of Task 3 and take care with your adaptation of the material and production of your own attempt at a model answer to the question.
Kind regards,
Stephen
