The Wavemill is designed for nearshore and
shoreline applications. The device consists of a
curved wall which focuses incoming waves to drive
seawater through a hydraulic pump. According to
the IEA the pressurised seawater can be used for
desalination (20 L/s) or electricity generation (up to
233 kW). Wave tank testing was done in 1998 and
a small desalination unit was deployed in Nova
Scotia in 2001.
