The particle filter algorithm is applied to improve the
accuracy of GPS positioning. Compared to traditional kalman
filter algorithm, the algorithm handles nonlinear and non-
Gaussian problems more efficiently. The experimental data is
attained by GPS data acquisition equipment. The experimental
results show that the filtering effect of particle filter is better
than that of extended Kalman filter.The accuracy of GPS
positioning is improved. In this study, the experiments verify that
the particle filter algorithm is available and effective in
improving the accuracy of GPS positioning. And the method can
be used for the application of GPS navigation, cars and ships
positioning fields.
