Luxury open-top four-seater gets 630hp 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine to outgun its rivals in acceleration terms. Mercedes-Benz has topped the S cabriolet with a new range-topping model featuring class-leading levels of torque and acceleration ability. The Mercedes-AMG s65 Cabriolet comes with a 6.0-litre twin-turbo v12 powerhouse pumping out 630hp and 1,000Nm of torque. Although the brand's newly developed nine-speed automatic is now available in several other model ranges, the S65 Cabriolet sticks with an older seven- speeder.
Even so, Mercedes' four-seat soft-top can accelerate from 0-100kph in 4.1sec. The electronically governed top speed of250kph can be optionally extended to 300kph. The most direct rival for the S65 Cabriolet in the 20 million baht bracket of luxury open-top cars is the Bentley Continental Speed Convertible. Armed with a 635hp820Nm 6.0 litre bi-turbo W12 engine, the Speed Convertible goes from 0-100kph in a slower 4.4sec. Higher up the price ranks is the Rolls-Royce Dawn which will be available for delivery next year. It comes with a 571hp780Nm 6.6-litre V12 but is slower than the S65 Cabriolet from 0-100kph by 0.8sec.
