Embedded liver tissue blocks from Expt. 2 were cut into 6-micron
sections and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Mounting medium and
cover slips were placed on the slides, which were then left to dry
overnight. A diagnosis of fatty liver was made based on the presence of
macro- or microvesicular fat in .5% of the hepatocytes in a given slide.
