However, the percentage of the partially shelled melon decreased as the quantity of the melon to be shelled increased Fig 4; with the highest value being 19.6% during auto shelling of Serewe melon and the lowest being 9.9% in manual shelling of Bara. In all of the first shelling operation for the two varieties of melon seed, the percentage of unshelled broken melon and that of crushed melon was less than 0.9%.
