Only treatment with 6 ◦C for 1 wk significantly affected the curd diameter in relation to the controls. For these plants, mean diameter of the curds was 174 mm, on average, while curd diameters of control plants were lower by 9 mm (Fig. 5). Subjecting the transplants to 14 ◦C for 1 wk significantly decreased diameter of the curds by almost 10mm compared to the treatment of 6 ◦Cwk−1.
