Keeping a portfolio
Much of this sort of work centres on reflection and evaluation. This will manifest in discussion and of course in writing. If your initial training was in the last decade you are probably familiar with the business of keeping a portfolio of evidence and reflection. As an NOT you will be delighted to discover that you have to continue to do this; and, indeed, this is becoming common at many levels of the profession. Maintaining a portfolio is, there-fore, a good habit to get into. It will support your formal career development but (more importantly) it will also help you to reflect on your work and to become a better teacher.
