This result once again suggests the influence of the Western reading that goes from left to right and from top to bottom. However, Table 7 also suggests a very interesting result, since, when studying layout II-2, where the most important elements on the packaging – name (1) and image (2) – are placed outside the main reading diagonal, there is no salient element when participants continue to view it. Thus when a layout is less aligned with reading patterns, the results are more diffuse since the participants’ scan paths are more varied.
