Even though being locals, we were first time visitors to this riverside town. It is a place well worth experiencing and a return visit is on the cards.
The Royal Chiangkhan suited our needs, being in a good state of repair and very clean. The town is so small so convenience is pretty much a given.
You don't get to have a river front view though but if you opt for the third floor you can just about glimpse the majestic Mae khong river.
Sleep is adequate even though noisy in the morning from the street bustle, all the town hotels will suffer this disadvantage.
Kudos to the receptionist staff who pretty much single handedly received guests and cleaned the whole building !
