The family process and role model variables entered in models 2 and 3 lead to only small decreases in the family type effects, so no clear evidence for a mediating effect of these variables is found.
In model 4 we observe some reduction of the family type coefficients for girls after inclusion of the control variables.

There is no effect of the financial situation on alcohol consumption of adolescents in our sample.
