Seongsanpo
Seongsanpo is located on the east side of Jeju-do and boasts the most splendid and beautiful yellow rapeseed flower blossoms. Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak) in Seongsanpo is a volcanic crater perched at the eastern tip of Jeju-do. ‘Seongsan’ means mountain fortress and appears so as ninety-nine stone peaks line up row after row creating a shape of a fortress. The yellow rapeseed flowers, green mountains and deep blue sea are harmonized in March and make a feast of colors at Seongsanpo; thus, offering marvelous scenery. It was a popular spot for photographs for Korean newlyweds on their honeymoon. Now Seongsanpo has become recognized among foreign tourists and a crowd of tourists envelope this area in March and April.
