I thought the book was alright. This was a required book for me to read for AP English Language and Composition. Otherwise, I would not call this book a book I would read for pleasure. Most parts were rather boring because I felt as though she driveled on to the point that her points were not made clear to me. I had to reread sections because I was simply oblivious to what she was trying to make comprehensible to us readers. For example, when she would talk about Christianity, it seemed like she loved her faith, but then she would use words that translated a different feeling of Christianity. Certain parts, however, stuck out to me because I could relate. For example, she briefly detailed on how she felt something was watching her at night, but then used logic to conclude that what she was seeing was not what it appeared to be. I also had a similar moment when I was a child so that brief section of the book kept me engaged, as well as other parts I could relate to, as mentioned. Overall, the book was rather dull to me, but I'm glad I had to step out of my comfort zone and try to relate to someone else's childhood in order to find a deeper meaning. That part of reading the book I actually enjoyed.
