The aims of this research to study the distribution and feeding time period of Aedes aegypti in 3 seasons : summer, rainy and winter and to determine association among the distribution of Ae. aegypti and feeding time, season, temperature and humidity, comparing between urban and rural areas in Surin province, northeastern, Thailand. Catching mosquitoes began from 6:00 am until 11:00 pm by swiping 10 minutes and then 10 minutes break, temperature and humidity every hour were record. The sample mosquitoes were identified by entomologist.
The result shows that 2,722 total Ae. aegypti (male and female) were caught. 1,316 (57.92 %) were caught in the urban area and 956 (42.08 %) in the rural area, 1,316 females Ae. aegypti 761 were caught (57.83 %) in the urban area and 555 (42.17 %) in the rural area. About the density of Ae. Aegypti and females Ae. aegypti In both urban and rural areas are similar. Density indoor more than outdoor. Density In summer and rainy more than winter, Feeding time in summer show second phase is clearly the morning to noon and evening through early night until 11:00 pm. In Rainy season found density in early morning and late afternoon to early night and found until 11:00 pm. In winter have low density and found in morning late until 07:00 pm. Compare the density of total Ae. aegypti and females Ae. aegypti in urban over rural statistically significant (p

Compare the density of total Ae. aegypti and females Ae. aegypti in urban over rural statistically significant (p <0.05). In both urban and rural densities found indoor more than outdoor statistically significant(P <0.05), density in summer and rainy is no difference (P >0.05), but the density in the summer and rainy season more than the winter was statistically significant (p <0.05). In both urban and rural area the temperature and humidity is related to the density (p <0.05) in all season. Recommendations: the resulting of this study should be apply to communicate with community about the Ae. aegypti feeding behavior. They need to protect themselves from mosquitoes all times. Ae. aegypti control should start the process intensively in winter. In urban area should continue to control Ae. aegypti consistency because of the higher density all season and is also a source of the spread of dengue virus throughout the year. Finally, spraying to control Ae. aegypti in various seasons should do at high density time and focus on indoor spraying.
