Solutions are, for example, to reduce or
eliminate the impacts, reduce human populations and effort, and create
no-take marine protected areas (MPAs) and the implementation and
consequences of these solutions viewed as unworthy of further
investigation. These types of solutions are, however, seldom well
investigated nor are the inherent trade offs, particularly social, fully
recognized (Christie, 2004). Evaluating the solutions themselves may be
complex but possibly seen as the domain of social scientists.
