Increasing the ratio also enhanced a settling process. The settling
time took hours for the molar ratios below 7:1 while it was
only approximately 30 min for the ratios of 7:1 and 8:1. The ester
layer isolated in the cases of 7:1 and 8:1 was yellowish and transparent
while it was translucent for the other cases. This indicated
that there was a certain amount of un-reacted glycerides diluted
in the ester phase at the ratios below 7:1.
