Since a previous validation of the Persian version of the RIPLS and
Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale (IEPS) was not performed,
in order to use these instruments in our context, forward and backward
English–Persian translation was carried out
At first, the English versions
of RIPLS and IEPS were translated into Persian. Then, the Persian
versions were back-translated into English by a Persian–English speaking
individual. Afterwards, the two English translationswere compared
to distinguish the changes in the meanings. The study team and one
specialist in psychometrics reviewed all the translation and cultural
adaptation processes and corrected the changes. To ensure cultural
equivalence, a panel of 10 experts from SUMS confirmed the content
validity of RIPLS and IEPS.
