The three entirely non-calcareous temper sands are less
well sorted or abraded and could represent stream sands rather than beach
sands. Crains other than quartz in the terrigenous fractions of the sands
include mainly chert and feldspars. Pottery at these sites is associated with
Ming Chinese and colonial porcelains and so all of them are likely to date to
the sixteenth century CE or later (Kyle Latinis pers. comm.).
