Motor ECM (A4:P1) (5): The two Motor ECMs communicate with other ECMs over the CAN A (Global CAN) Data Link. The Motor ECMs also communicate over a proprietary CAN B (Local CAN) Data Link with the Drivetrain ECM (DTC) and the Dynamic Retarding Inverter (DRI). Under direction from the DTC, these control modules are responsible for the high-speed power switching patterns which result in drive-wheel induction motor torques that propel the machine. Each Motor ECM controls one Inverter (one-half of the Phase Modules) and one Traction Motor, which in turn propels one half of the machine’s two sets of rear dual wheels. The control modules are labeled Power Converter 1 and Power Converter 2 in order to distinguish them.
Terminal Board (6): The terminals on the terminal board connect the different current and voltage sensors inside the cabinet to the Motor ECMs. The terminals also connect several other components and circuits within the cabinet.
