It has been recently demonstrated that babassu (Orbygniaphalerata), canola (Brassica napus), castor seed (Ricinus communis)and sunflower (Helianthus annuus) cakes, originated from the oilextraction processes of the corresponding fruits, seeds or grains,present great potential for the production of multiple enzymeswith application in biofuels production, such as amylases, cellulases and xylanases (Castro et al., 2011).
