In making his choices for the example problem, the DM assumed a longer term perspective that resulted in a higher overall fit. The DM preferred less overfill in longer duration jobs because of expected labor cost, and allowed overfill in shorter duration jobs for skill development purposes. No formal measures of satisfaction were administered for the example problem. However, reasonable decision making was possible in this example because the DM was able to make general assumptions regarding labor cost and fit/fill preferences. Additional problems were used to test the capabilities of the solution procedure for these types of problems.
