CD24was identified as a cluster of differentiationmarker of hematopoietic
lineages. It has subsequently been found to be overexpressed in
variousmalignant tumors and to be associatedwith the metastatic phenotype
[24]. The human cell surface antigen CD24 is a glycoprotein that
is anchored to the cell surface by a GPI linkage and is a ligand for Pselectin
on tumor cells [25].
