THE SOCIALBUTTERFLY
SOMEONE WHO FINDS IT EASY to chat and interact
with virtually everyone is usually a delightful person to
have as an employee. This individual probably excels at
providing customer service and might assist the “silent
type” employee, and others like “the rookie” or “overly
sensitive” employees, to integrate with the rest of the
group. The only time the social butterfly is likely to make
a blip on the “negaholic” radar is when tasks are not
being tackled or completed, or when there’s a lapse in
professional demeanor.
When the social butterfly isn’t staying on top of
assignments, people on the receiving end of this person’s
sociability are distracted from their work, too. Productivity takes an all-around nosedive. Multiply what might
seem like a negligible productivity loss by fifty weeks a
year, and it’s not a small matter.
