Newly purchased wines were sampled immediately for total phenol, total sulfite and total folate content analyses. The bottles were resealed, and stored at
4 C. Wines were sampled again on subsequent days, as indicated for folate content analysis. Total phenol is expressed as mg gallic acid equivalent/l wine.
