Sesquiterpene hydrocarbons and oxygenated sesquiterpenes were mostly presented in the EO. The oxygenated diterpenes were present in smaller quantities. Monoterpenes were not observed. Among the identified compounds, the cyclic molecules were the majority. The sesquiterpene hydrocarbons represented 40.69% of the EO, and the major compounds identified were bicyclogermacrene (12) (19.30%), β-caryophyllene (6) (8.57%), allo-aromadendrene (9) (3.34%), and β-elemene (4) (1.79%). The oxygenated sesquiterpenes represented 46.93% of the EO, and the major compounds identified were spathulenol (22) (21.36%), a mixture of caryophyllene oxide (23) gleenol (24), and globulol (25) (7.71%) as well as viridiflorol (26) (3.43%). The oxygenated diterpenes yields were modest at only 0.48%, including (E,E)-geranyl linalool (46) (0.10%), and phytol (47) (0.38%). Fig. 1 shows the structural formule of identified compounds.
