When taken as an edible A. konjacbased food, it will lead to a more gradual absorption of dietary sugar and reduce the elevation of blood sugar levels. Therefore, overall diabetic control can be improved in the patients with diabetes by giving them glucomannan-enriched diets (Fang & Wu, 2004).
