A comprehensive range of electrodes are available to suit various operating conditions, depending on temperature, pressure and alkalinity (pH) of the water.
Construction of the electrode consists of a titanium tip separated from the body by a ceramic insulator. A titanium collar is inserted between the stainless steel body of the electrode and the ceramic. The titanium provides a better coefficient of expansion match between the stainless steel and ceramic.
Two types of ceramic are used, depending on the application.
Zirconia has the greatest resistance to both erosion and corrosion, and is normally supplied for all saturated steam applications (up to 210 bar, 370°C)
Alumina is used in superheated steam applications up to 560°C.
The structure is brazed together by a patented technique using active brazing materials, ensuring consistent quality with a leak proof seal.
Each electrode has a unique serial number allowing the source of the materials to be traced in case of failure.
