situated half a block away from the the Ratchathewi bts station, it is quite convenient to get pretty much anywhere from the hotel. i think it's a perfect place to stay for a first time visit. to get to the temples, and grand palace areas, can easily take the bts to ferries that go up the chao priya river. easy walk to the siam paragon and siam discovery - classy shopping malls with quite extensive food court. the hotel is a great place to come back to after a day out in the city, with wonderfully courteous staff, and amenities i would associate more with luxury hotels rather than a boutique hotel. And the rooms are very clean. The only strange thing was that for some of the deluxe double rooms with 2 beds which face away from the city and towards the national palace, and temples, the window views are covered with wooden slats, per some rule against being able to overlook the grand palace or something like that. No big deal to us though.
