water, which are conducive to steel corrosion. Corrosion
eventually forces the premature replacement of the
pole, which is costly. The replacement cost of a deteriorated
pole is considerably higher than its initial cost, and
the reduced service life of poles directly affects the service
life of the electric lines they support.
