drinking-water production. In this study, we will
consider the application of adsorption on a column
filled with a ion-exchange resin (a macro-reticular
sulphonated styrene-divinylbenzene resin) and of a
advanced oxidation process (AOP). The first technology
had demonstrated a superior dynamic performance to
the granular activated carbon (GAC) [1] for the removal
of TCE fromwater, showing lower leakage levels and
higher operating capacity. The AOP processes, using the
combination of ozone with other oxidant agents (UV
radiation and hydrogen peroxide), allow only the
oxidation of dissolved organic compounds that are
commonly refractory to the direct attack of ozone [2]. In
fact, UV radiation and hydrogen peroxide addition lead
to the ozone demolition and the OHd radical formation;
