were unchanged by membrane separation
(data not shown). The rejection of sugars, carboxylic acids, and furans
by NTR-729HF, NTR-7250, and ESNA3 were also investigated
(Table 4) and demonstrated relatively higher sugar rejections
(80.7–100.0) than carboxylic acid and furan rentions (2.9–59.1).
The rejection of glucose and acetate in liquid hydrolysates of dilute
acid-pretreated rice straw was similar to the previous result published:
NTR-729 showed 60% acetate rejection and 99% glucose
rejection (pH 5.6, 30 C, 1.72 MPa).
