Results have been impressive. P&G's beauty division trimmed its total inventory by 3 to 7 percent and maintained service levels above 99%. In the firs fiscal year after implementation of the new software the division's earnings rose 13% and sales rose 7% Inventory days on hand were down by eight days compared to the previous fiscal year. The results were so successful that P&G began rolling out multi-echelon inventory strategies across all of its various manufacturing branches.
