5. Petroleum hydrocarbon
Thailand has taken part in the IGOSS Marine Pollution Monitoring (Petroleum) Programme (MAPMOPP) since 1976. In 1983, dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons in seawater, sediments, and certain species of bivalves and fish were measured, using the spectrofluorometric method with chrysene as a standard, following the methodology set out by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. The results are shown in Table 8.
