Fig. 1 F-induced stimulation of PS exposure at the rat erythrocyte
membrane. The percentage of erythrocytes exposing PS at their membrane
was determined by flow cytometry analysis (FL-1). The cells
were labeled with annexin V-FITC immediately after washing (fresh)
or after 24-h incubation (24 h) under in vitro conditions (37 °C, 5 %
CO2/95 % O2 atmosphere, incubation medium contained 137 mM
NaCl, 4 mM KCl, 1 mM MgSO4, 1 mM CaCl2, 5 mM NaHCO3,
0.3 mM Na2HPO4, 0.4 mM KH2PO4, 10 mM glucose, and 1 % (w/v)
penicillin–streptomycin, pH 7.4 at 37 °C). Number of counted cells
in each experiment is 30,000. Average values±SE are shown, n=10.
