1) A1 passes to A2 to maintain possession.
2) A2 looks to play forward (i.e. to A4) but can't because of the position of the defenders. So he/she plays the ball sideways to A3.
3) A3 looks up on receiving the ball and sees A4 open in the second grid and passes the ball through.
4) Once the ball is passes across the line, two of the attacking players from grid can cross over to grid B to support A4. (Refer to Diagram 2).
5) Once the ball goes from grid A to grid B, the defenders switch roles. D2 goes into grid B to pressure and D1 defends the line. (Refer to Diagram 2)
