concept wasfirstintroducedbyGarwin [2] who usedatangential
coefficient ofrestitutionofone,whichisnotphysicallyrealistic.
Garwin’s modelwasmodifiedbyCross [3] who employeda
tangential coefficientofrestitution a satisfying 0oao1, withthe
horizontal velocityofthepointofimpactoftheballbeing
reversed andreducedinmagnitudebyafactorof a in theimpact.
