3.2. Photocatalyticactivity
Methylene blue (MB) has often been used as a model dye molecule for photocatalytic degradation examination of semi- conductors. The photocatalytic activity of the nanofibers was evaluated by measuring decomposition reaction rates of MB dye under the irradiation of UV light. It is well established that the pho- tocatalytic degradation of MB is classified as the first-order kinetics described by the following equation [31]:
