PAN-AC, indicating that PR-C has a higher degree of graphitic structure.
Meanwhile, the narrower G band (lower FWHM) of PR-C compared
to PAN-AC is associated with an improvement in the
orientation and size of graphitic domains. The results have evidenced
that additional activation damages graphitic crystallites
of polymer-based carbon materials, and phenolic resin-based carbon
ultrafine fibers obtained by carbonization without steam
activation possess enhanced crystallinity and graphitic structure.
