Young coconuts are the fruits of the coconut trees. This diamond shaped fruit has an outer lush-green layer (the husk) which will eventually darken into a straw-like brown husk. Containing a distinctive, tender bite to it, this fruit can be eaten in a variety of ways: the juice can be a healthy alternative to Coke or Pepsi; the white flesh is also edible and can be an additional delicacy to many dishes. Recent researches show many promising benefits from consuming young coconuts including improving the health of people with kidney related diseases.
