IMPORTANT: Some international airlines are making changes to their baggage allowance. Depending on the airline you may be allowed to check in ONE medium size suitcase weighing 23 kg (50 lbs) for free. A second checked bag weighing max 23 kg’s will be charged (usually less if you check in online). Excess baggage charges have also gone up on some airlines. Please check with the airline to confirm their latest restrictions and charges before packing. If you are travelling on to your host family on a domestic airline there may be a charge for each bag you check in. In order to comply with baggage restrictions on a domestic flight or train to your host family, please do not exceed these limits and remember to have funds available in case you need it for your onward travel and if your baggage is over the maximum weight allowance.
We strongly advise you to check directly with the airlines for updated information on their policy regarding baggage and also any charges they may make for food and drink on board. Au Pair in America cannot be held responsible for any baggage or onboard services charges.
If you require special meals on the plane (vegetarian, kosher, etc.), you should make this request directly with the airline, at least 48 hours prior to your departure. Please be aware that some airlines charge for food and drink on board and that you are responsible for paying any costs you may incur.
If you are travelling in a small group we may include details of other au pairs who will be flying with you, so that you can contact each other before you go.
I am happy for my contact details to be shared with other Au Pairs on the same flight
