PREFACE

Onimusha 3: Demon Siege has 2 endings. The first ending, I don't know about
you, but it left a bad taste in my mouth because it doesn't really feel
complete. To get the second, true ending, you have to get all 8 of the
Hatori or Vests for Ako. This FAQ lists the location of those vests
in the order you should come to them in the game for the US version.
Thanks to bwong I also have a list for the Japanese version that
lists location and effect as well.

1. Blue Vest
Effect: Increases speed of enemy soul absorption.

Location: After obtaining Ako, run up the forrest path until you meet
Samanosuke. It's in a red chest in the second house (the house Samanosuke
didn't jump off of).

Effect: All souls become red, increase soul count.

Location: Sewers. Go into the control room and turn the power on, cross the
bridge and go into the room, from the door take a left and follow the hallway
down to a red chest. It's in the red chest.

Location: Sekkai village. If you go into the store with the tigers in front
of it, and go through the backdoor, you can't miss it. It's in the red chest.

4. Yellow Vest
Effect: Draw souls out of the enemy every attack.

Location: Underwater Oni Temple. After you get Chigo for Samanosuke, go
into the door that was unlocked with a yellow disc. Use the elevator to
get to the second floor. Head straight ahead and unlock the door locked
by earth magic. It's in a red chest in the room you just unlocked.

Location: Notre Dome. Run up to the altar that opens up and allows you into
the basement. Stand in front of the altar, turn your back to the altar, and
run forward until you see a red chest.

6. Orange Vest
Effect: Show enemy HP and Critical timing.

Location: Mont-Saint-Michelle. After you complete the puzzle that was opened
using the red eye in the head of the beast statue, run down the stairs and
through the double doors. In this area kill everything and then hit the boxes.
The boxes will release a oni firefly that you can latch on to if you stand in
front of the double doors you came out of (on the stairs leading down from the
double door (not the stairway from the puzzle that brought you into the room))
that firefly will take you up to a roof and the red chest to the left holds
the orange vest.

Effect: Less magic power consumed.

Location: Mont-Saint-Michelle. Go into the dark realm as Samanosuke and make
it to the very bottom. There is a chest containing the purple vest.

8. Black Vest
Effect: All hits Critical.

Location: Critical Training. If you complete Samanosuke's criticial
training, you get the black vest as a reward.

NOTE: Equiping this vest will slowly take away some life, so make sure you
have plenty of health items. (Note brought to my attention by
[e-mail])

NOTE: Apparently you can get the black vest by finishing Jacque's issen
training as well. And some people have been confused as to why I didn't
list the many yellow souls as a way to replenish your health, the reason
is because it doesn't replenish all of your health it only refills about
40 to 75% if you're lucky. (Note brought to my attention by
[e-mail])

The next section is for those of you that have the Japanese version of the game.
They were taken out of bWonG's FAQ with premission. He said he wasn't sure if
they were 100% in the right order and that he would email me back if they
weren't, he either forgot to or hasn't found any errors. To protect his
hard work, I have left the following section in tact from his FAQ, to make
it easier to follow, I have posted a key to what he means when his guide
says "Episode 2, Episode 3, etc." they refer to locations in the game. A key
has been included for you below the list of vests. Here is the section
for people with the Japanese version:

Blue Vest: Episode 2 -Samanosuke is back, pick it up inside the second house
Use-->Absorb spirits faster.
Red Vest: Episode 3 -Inside the second room, at the end of the small alley-
Use-->More Red Spirits from kills (No more Yellow and Blue Spirits!).
White Vest: Episode 4 -At the Backyard of the main store-
Use-->Able to absorb spirits from live Genma.
Green Vest: Episode 5 -Inside the Notre Dame, opposite the altar to the end
Use-->Heals you when standing still.
Yellow Vest: Episode 6 -Inside the Yellow Door on the upper level-
Use-->When attacking Red Spirits come out.
Orange Vest: Episode 8 -Glide to the top of the castle from the main door-
Use-->Show enemy's life and Issen moment.
Purple Vest: Episode 8 -Samanosuke on the Dark realm 2, Green Warp-
Use-->Decrease the use of magic when using Sword magic.
Black Vest: Complete the Issen Training at the save point.
