1. The Remembering the Future cover, above, has some of the edginess we’re looking for, and—if we go this direction—incorporates her photo in an usual and unobtrusive way. Maybe Teal’s photo could be used, but with her face all or partly in shadow, as a play on the title. (A bit like the Brain on Fire memoir in the comp titles.)
2. We also like the idea of the cover having a gradation of dark to light, or perhaps a light coming through the dark, to capture the essence of the subtitle, “Finding the Light of Self-Love Through Your Darkest Times.” Or perhaps an image that literally represents dawn/predawn.
3. Finally, we included the Brené Brown Daring Greatly book in the comps because we like the powerful type treatment; maybe the light-to-dark theme could even be conveyed through the type.
