Nowadays, there is a rising concerns in health problems. Ways of healthiness have been sought. Meat-based food or Omnivores diet has been avoided while plant-based food or Vegetarian diet has been consumed more and more. There are beliefs that vegetarian diets can prevent diseases (Campbell, 2006), but on the other hand, there are sickness among those who consume vegetarian diet from lack of nutrients. Arguments occurred whether omnivore’s diet or vegetarian diet is the right answer for the healthiest diet. In order to compare advantages and disadvantages, our group divides this issue in three aspects; nutrients receive in each diet, factors of lifestyle for each diet and possible effect that could occur for consuming each diet.
Nutrients received in each diet will provide the fact of nutrients in each diet. Nutrients will be present in daily value, showing if any diets meet the nutrients need, because there are arguments among omnivore diet group and vegetarian diet group about nutrients need. This research will answer the question of nutrients need in each diet. However, there is a saying; “well-planned vegetarian diet can meet dietary recomandations for essentail nutrients.”(National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, 2000), which shows that nutrients, no matter in which diet, has to reach the sufficient amount, and no matter in which diet, both could be decided healthy and in benefit. In order to perceive this fact, the research of nutrients is needed.
Factors of lifestyle have been separated in two aspects; cost of the diet and number of restaurants. The comparison on both group who consume each diet is needed to learn about lifestyle in reality, it is very most likely will lead to decision making, with choices and possibility which is from other consumer’s opinion themselves, for which diet is the most suitable to their lifestyle. Cost of the diets are indicates the cost of living. Research will take place on opinions of both who consume omnivore diet and vegetarian diet, showing whether the price is low or high. Number of each diet’s restaurants will indicates rarity and regularity, because convenience is also a remarkable point to consider.
The studies of effects of both diets are also very necessary. Beside nutrients, cost of the diets and number of the restaurants, effects in both diets do take a big part in consumer concerns. Whether they are omnivore diet or vegetarian diet, they both have effect from consuming. The effect could be in the type of diseases or condition of lacking of nutrients The study say: “Whichever diet you have, if it is unbalanced, you are at risk of not consuming a sufficient amount of nutrients that your body needs to maintain proper health.” (par.1) or consume some particular nutrients in overly amount. According to Gamble “A long-term zinc deficiency could cause poor night vision, a reduction in your taste and smell functions, a decrease in immunity to infections, Candida, slowed wound-healing and a poorly developed reproductive organs in babies and children.” (par.4) Furthermore, from the study “Our study adds more evidence to the health risks of eating high amounts of red meat, which has been associated with type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke and certain cancers in other studies,” says lead author Dr.An Pan. (par.7) Also, the cause of the effect will be included in the research for further act to avoid the sickness.
The conclusion of this research will be based on the questionnaires and interview, In details, the conclusion will includes opinion of people who consume omnivore diet and vegetarian diet about nutrients benefit, factors of lifestyle and, the most important, their choice of continue consuming the diet in the future.
