Heat pump drying was done in a self-made laboratory-scale
heat pump dehumidified dryer. Pretreated samples
(450 kg m2) were placed as a single layer on a tray and dried using HD, HPD and FD for about 10, 12 and 24 h, respectively.
All drying experiments were carried out in triplicate. After drying,
squid fillets were put into a desiccator containing silica gel desiccant
overnight at 25 C for moisture equilibration. The samples
were then packed in the Ziploc bags and kept inside a desiccator
for less than a week for further analysis.
