On the other hand, the relation between emission and cost/tonne for the common hazardous waste incinerators (Fig. 3)
is not statistically significant (R2 = 0.23).It is to be recognized that these relationshipsare plotted only as a part of the development of a conceptual approach.
In reality there is no such relation because all technologies of hazardous waste incineration and emission control are designed to achieve, as far as possible, zero emission of dioxin.
The variations in dioxin emission are due to a variety of reasons including O & M practices and characteristics of feed in terms of chlorine content, and not because of
choosing a less expensive technology of incineration and emission control.
