4. Conclusions
This study demonstrated the higher bioactivity of the strawberries
treated with MJ. The evaluation of the four fractions
pointed out anthocyanins and phenolic acids as the responsible
components for the higher antioxidant activity and the
anti-inflammatory effects of the strawberry treated with MJ.
These compounds have been reported to show high activity
in different assays. Thus, MJ has potential application in postharvest
treatment as a useful tool for the induction of health
benefiting chemicals in plant diet.
