2.1. Artificial regeneration
Forest reproductive material used for artificial
regeneration by means of sowing or planting is rarely
harvested in the area of plantation establishment.
Thus, artificial regeneration usually involves transfer
of reproductive material and a disruption of the transmission
of genetic information from the previous
forest to the regeneration. Changes of genetic structures
are likely to occur even if artificial regeneration
does not involve a change of the species composition.
However, the transfer of reproductive material does
not always result in decreased adaptedness of
allochthonous populations.
