Machining and grinding and polishing of Dryer Roll
1. Reason to remove a lot of diameter is to remove rusty. On cylinder surface
2. Roll surface was dueled and found a deepest. Is on back side
3. Machining tool was set up on right and strong steel H-Beam
4. Remove of material is approx 4-5 mm on diameter
- After machining: Surface hare been improve by grinding machining and abrasive grinding belt
Grit # 24&36 using to make straight profit
Grit # 40 - 100 using to make straight profit
- Spec after grinding
Straightness ± 0.10 mm.
Roughness 0.8 µ Ra
Roundness less than 0.10 mm.
Dryer Cylinder no. 40&42
1. Purchasing confirm to do D39 grinding & Polishing
2. After dismantling of roll, doctor blade and blow box we fame that the D40 has very poor surface. Than D39
3. In meeting we agree with Double A team to do grinding and polishing on D40 instead of D39
Scope of work
Spec after grinding and polishing
Straightness ± 0.10 mm.
Roughness: less than 0.8 µ Ra
Roundness: Same as before or a bit better
- Purpose of this work: to remove locally worn cut (groove) to make more smoother surface and to get same diameter along the machining width
- Done by grinding machining and abrasive belt
Grit # 24&36 belt to make good straightness
Grit # 40 - 100 belts to get good roughness.
