CANDU REACTORS HAVE 380+ SMALL BORE FEEDER PIPES.
THE PIPES ARE EXPERIENCING WALL THINNING DUE TO FLOW
ASSISTED CORROSION. THIS STUDY AIMS TO ASSESS THE INTEGRITY
OF THINNED PIPES AND VALIDATE COMPUTATIONAL
METHODS COMPARED TO FULL SCALE TESTS TO FAILURE.
ANSYS WAS THE ANALYSIS PACKAGE USED TO MODEL THE
PIPE AND PERFORM SIMULATIONS. ANSYS IS USED TO EXERCISE
FINE CONTROL OVER CRITICAL PARAMETERS SUCH AS
MESH GEOMETRY, LOADING SEQUENCES, AND MATERIAL
PROPERTIES OF THE MODEL. MATLAB WAS ALSO USED TO
CALCULATE AND MODIFY THE BEND GEOMETRY.
